The meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of ICRIC Mr. Hasan Zadeh, the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber Dr. Khalawi, the Director General of ICRIC Dr. Karbasi and the Iranian members of the Board of Directors and the foreign members of the Board of Directors from Turkey and Egypt was held on 26 May 2024 in Amman, Jordon.
At the outset, the chairman of the board of directors had his welcome speech for the board members and expressed his pleasure to be at the ICRIC Board meeting with the attendance of the honorable representatives of the countries of Egypt and Turkey and the honorable secretary general of the Islamic Chamber.
He appreciated the honorable Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber and the Jordan Chamber of Commerce who made the necessary arrangements to hold these significant meetings.
He mentioned that these meetings are a confirmation of the increase and strength of the international cooperation in line with the benefits of Islamic countries. Coordination and joint cooperation within the OIC group and the creation of dialogue between experts create a link between members in order to define joint projects.
By applying all the managements of Iran Chamber, including the IT department and the Research Center department, Mr. Hasan Zadeh declared Iran Chamber’s full collaboration and support to the Islamic Chamber’s Research and Information Center (ICRIC) serving as the research arm of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce in I.R. Iran, working in the form of focused projects in line with the interests of Islamic countries. He also requested the respectable member chambers to cooperate with ICRIC.
The chief of board of Directors also acknowledged the wise efforts of the director general of ICRIC, Dr. Karbasi and all the supportive colleagues at ICRIC for pursuing the goals and approvals of the board of directors.
Halal, the Islamic Countries Tourism Chain, the OIC Network of Small and Medium sized Enterprises, the Islamic World Trade Directory, the Islamic Countries Competitiveness Ranking System, and the Muslim Excellency Award are the ICRIC projects.
Launching the tourism portal of Islamic countries and holding the 5th health tourism conference of Islamic countries in Tehran, rating the companies of Islamic countries and conducting research were among the topics raised in this meeting.
The members of the meeting while appreciating and thanking ICRIC and the efforts made to achieve the goals, emphasized and decided on the implementation of all approved programs and unveil of the 4 sites related to Islamic Countries Tourism Chain, the OIC Network of Small and Medium sized Enterprises, Islamic World Trade Directory, and the Islamic Countries Competitiveness Ranking System at Tehran Summit.
Dr. Khalawi in addition to emphasizing on the role of ICRIC as the research arm of the Islamic Chamber and welcoming the performance of this center, he also suggested conducting research in the field of halal, which was approved.
The next meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC will be held on the sidelines of the 40th General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber in Tehran in fall 2024.
