ICRIC Board of Directors Meeting was held on 16 October 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey

The meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC was held on 16 October 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey with the presence of the President of the Iran Chamber and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ICRIC Mr. Hassanzadeh, the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber Dr. Khalawi, the Director General of ICRIC Dr. Karbasi and the Iranian members as well as the foreign members of the Board of Directors from Turkey, Egypt and Benin and the representatives of the Iranian Consulate in Turkey.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, while welcoming the members of the board of directors of ICRIC and the members present in the meeting, the President of Iran Chamber (the Chairman of ICRIC Board) thanked the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber and his colleagues in the Secretariat of the Islamic Chamber for arranging and coordinating the meetings.

 

He stated that since the meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC in Jordan in May 2024, the approvals of the ICRIC board meeting have been followed and good efforts have been put for the progress of ICRIC projects.

 

He appreciated the efforts of the Director General of ICRIC and his colleagues at the ICRIC Secretariat, the IT and Research Department of Iran Chamber.

 

Mr. Hassanzadeh emphasized that ICRIC as affiliated to the Islamic Chamber, is trying to provide a link of cooperation with organizations related to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in order to introduce the economic capacities of the Islamic world and the private sector of the OIC.

 

General Director of ICRIC also thanked the president of the Iran Chamber and his colleagues for their support.

 

He then presented the 5-month report of ICRIC activities since the meeting in Jordan in 2024.

 

The Tourism Chain of Islamic Countries (ICTC), OIC Network of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (ONSA), Islamic World Trade Directory (IWTD), Islamic Countries Corporate Rating System (IC-CRS), Halal and Green Finance Research, Holding the 5th Conference of Health Tourism of OIC Countries and a training workshop in line with the MoU singed between the Training Academy of ICCD and the Educational Institute of Iran Chamber have been on the agenda of ICRIC Board Meeting.

 

The Tourism Chain of Islamic Countries was unveiled in four chapters with the titles of profiles of companies active in the field of tourism, sights and historical places of Islamic countries, laws and regulations related to the tourism of countries and health tourism of OIC countries.

 

For OIC Network of Small and Medium sized Enterprises,

the information of relevant information agencies from 57 Islamic countries was presented on the website of ICRIC.

 

For Islamic World Trade Directory, the business information of 21 countries in 15 fields was unveiled on the ICRIC website.

 

In the Islamic Countries Corporate Rating System, the initial design of the site based on the plan of the Executive Manager of the Project, Parsian Hooshmand Company, was unveiled.

 

With respect to Halal section, the research conducted by ICRIC on the status of halal certification in Islamic countries was presented.

 

For the “Green Financing” research section, which was carried out in cooperation with Iran Chamber Research Center, the first phase of the relevant research in four chapters: “Green Finance Platform – Key Element to Sustainable Development”, “the Role of Banks in the Economy and Green Financing Green Platform: Key Element to Sustainable Development”, “The Role of the Financial Market in the Green Economy”, and “International Institutions and Green Economy Financing in Developing Countries” were presented.

 

Holding the 5th Health Tourism Conference of Islamic Countries after the holy month of Ramadan in 2025 in Isfahan City was approved and it was decided that the date and subject of the training workshop between the Training Academy of Islamic Chamber and the Educational Institute of Iran Chamber will be announced to the Islamic Chamber after it is finalized.

 

The members of the meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC, while appreciating and thanking ICRIC and the efforts made to realize the goals and approvals of the previous ICRIC meeting, requested to receive the research files and express their opinions after reviewing the files.

 

It was also decided to follow up the implementation of the approvals of the board of directors for all agenda items.

 

The Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber, while thanking the activities carried out by ICRIC as the research arm of the Islamic Chamber, suggested that an executive committee consisting of the Asian, Arab and African continents is formed to monitor the content of some projects, including the ICTC, ONSA, IWTD, IC-CRS, Halal and Green Financing Research.

 

It was also decided that the health tourism project is unveiled in line with the meetings related to Digitalization in Jordan which will be held in May 2025.

 

The next meeting of the Board of Directors of ICRIC will be held alongside the next ICCD meetings in Egypt.
