Samad Hassanzadeh, President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, said at the 40th Board of Directors Meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in Ankara, referring to the passage of about 4 years since the beginning of the current period of the Islamic Chamber’s activities: “It is expected that members will be able to have an accurate assessment of the extent to which the goals of this institution have been achieved.”
Accordingly, we propose that a comprehensive report based on measurable indicators of the Islamic Chamber’s performance be presented at the next meeting.
The President of the Iranian Chamber added: “This report can clearly explain the achievements of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in the areas of developing trade between member countries, increasing joint investments, facilitating private sector relations and cooperation, creating or strengthening mechanisms for resolving trade disputes, promoting education and knowledge-building for economic actors, facilitating transportation and logistics cooperation, removing trade barriers, and other strategic programs.”
Hassanzadeh noted: In addition to increasing transparency and accountability, presenting such a report will enable members to judge the effectiveness of past programs and make decisions based on actual performance for the upcoming period.
Therefore, we request that the issue of “presenting a 4-year performance report of the Islamic Chamber based on quantitative and qualitative indicators” be included in the agenda of the next meeting.
Continuing his speech, Samad Hassanzadeh, referring to the expansion of the Islamic Chamber’s activities, the increase in the number of members, and the need for greater participation of different regions of the Islamic world in the management of the Chamber, suggested: Given that the statute of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development does not limit the number of vice presidents, it is proposed that the General Assembly be authorized to increase the number of vice presidents as needed.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of Iran emphasized: This proposal will increase flexibility, strengthen geographical representation, and better distribute responsibilities without the need to amend the statute.
Coinciding with the 40th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber, a delegation from the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, headed by Samad Hassanzadeh, President of the Iranian Chamber, and attended by Ghadir Qiyafeh, Vice President of the Iranian Chamber, Seyyed Hamed Asgari, Deputy Director of International Affairs of the Iranian Chamber, Mohammad Reza Karbasi, Director General of ICRIC, and Sama Farkhonde Nejad, Director General of Europe and Oceania of the International Deputy of the Iranian Chamber, attended the meeting.
